Fashion Design Camp is the brainchild of Portland business owner Tacee Webb and daughter Palace.
Over a five-day period, each camper will be introduced to all aspects of the fashion world. Whether he or she wants to be a fashion designer, stylist, or own a retail or even online store, it all will be covered.
Camp is open to ages 8-16. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and the finale fashion show is at 7 p.m. on Friday. Campers bring a sack lunch. Snacks and beverages are available.
Portland is a design Mecca, where everyone can shop many stores that feature locally made garments. We have tapped into this passion and our local market instructors represent some of the best.
We want to encourage future fashionistas, both boys and girls, to take advantage of all the opportunities in Portland to see and experience local design.
Letter From Tacee Webb
Hello! Thank you for inquiring about the 10th annual Fashion Design Camp. There is still time to submit your application -- we would love to have your son or daughter at camp this year!
Fashion Design Camp encourages creative self-expression and empowers young people to make their own clothes!
There is no experience necessary! Beginners are welcomed and encouraged. We hope you will join us and please feel free to call or email with any questions!
…and Thank you to our Founders
Looking back over many years of FDC photos and memories I am reminded that this project was founded on friendship, that it started so organically with a few talented and amazing people, my dear friends who wanted to support my daughter, Palace George. This camp was founded out of love and almost a decade later our little summer sewing dream project has thrived, empowering several hundred young designers from NY to LA, in Seattle and Portland, OR.
I want to thank those founders, critical to the camps success in the first few years: Logan Lynn, Niki Dimitris, Michelle McDonnell, Carey Haider and to my daughter, Palace
Without you none of this magic would have ever happened!
Love has wings and the message sewn into the fabric of this camp continues to expand, to support teens not only to design and sew but to use those talents to give back to help heal the world, one stitch at a time....
